QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP, IN YOUR OWN CLOUD

QuickBooks Desktop Hosting

Not ready to move to QuickBooks Online? You don’t have to. Keep the QuickBooks Desktop your team knows, running in your own Microsoft Azure environment with fast access from anywhere, automatic updates, and secure backups.

Talk to us about QuickBooks hosting

Keep QuickBooks Desktop, without the headaches

Plenty of businesses aren’t ready to move to QuickBooks Online, and some never want to. Desktop has the features, reports, add-ons, and workflows their team relies on. But running it in the office comes with familiar frustrations. “Company file in use” errors. Multi-user mode that breaks for no clear reason. One office computer quietly acting as the server. Slow performance for anyone working from home. Waiting on someone to install updates. Emailing backup files back and forth with your bookkeeper. And the constant worry about what happens if that one machine fails.

We aren’t affiliated with Intuit. Our expertise comes from years of working side by side with businesses and accounting firms, supporting QuickBooks Desktop day to day and learning what keeps it stable in a multi-user environment. Most multi-user problems and slowness come down to how the environment is set up, not QuickBooks itself. We move QuickBooks and your company files into a properly built environment in your own Microsoft Azure tenant, so your whole team, and your outside accountant if you choose, gets fast, secure access from anywhere.

Your company file, under your control. QuickBooks runs in your own Azure environment, not a hosting company’s. You decide what’s installed, who has access, and how it’s secured. Your data never sits on someone else’s servers, there’s no long-term lock-in, and if you ever change providers, everything stays with you.

What QuickBooks hosting includes

QuickBooks Desktop editions

We host QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, Enterprise, and Accountant editions. Your team works in the same QuickBooks they know today, just faster and from anywhere.

Reliable multi-user access

QuickBooks and your company files run together in the same environment, so multi-user mode works the way it should. No more “company file in use” errors or Database Server Manager troubleshooting on an office PC.

Access for your accountant or bookkeeper

Give your outside accountant or bookkeeper their own secure login with multifactor authentication. They work directly in your file, with no more emailing backup files back and forth.

Automatic QuickBooks updates

Updates are handled automatically through built-in workflows and applied on a schedule that works for your business. Nobody has to submit a ticket or remember to update QuickBooks again.

Microsoft 365 integration

QuickBooks runs inside the same Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem your team already uses. One sign-in, one security layer, and Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive all connected.

Add-ons and connected apps

Many businesses rely on payroll tools, reporting add-ons, and other applications that connect to QuickBooks Desktop. If they run on Windows, we can host them alongside QuickBooks so everything keeps working together.

Why businesses move QuickBooks to the cloud

Fast access from anywhere

Opening a company file over a VPN means every transaction travels across a home internet connection. In Azure, QuickBooks sits right next to your data, so remote staff work as fast as they do in the office.

Financial data protected

QuickBooks holds your bank details, customer information, and payroll records. Your environment is protected by multifactor authentication, encryption at rest and in transit, Conditional Access, role-based permissions, and Microsoft Defender, all inside your own Azure tenant.

No more office “server” PC

No more relying on one aging computer in the back office to host your company file. QuickBooks runs on remote Windows resources in Azure, with nothing on-site to replace, patch, or back up yourself.

Updates handled for you

We apply QuickBooks updates and Windows patches on your schedule through automated workflows, and test them first. Less downtime, better security, and nothing for your team to remember.

Backups you can count on

Encrypted, automated backups of your company files with retention set to your needs. We test restores regularly, so if a file is damaged or deleted, you can get it back quickly.

Keeps working through outages

Pacific Northwest winters bring power flickers and internet outages. When the office loses power, your session and data stay safe in Azure instead of on a local machine that shuts off mid-entry. Once power or internet comes back, staff reconnect and pick up right where they left off.

Built for businesses that run on QuickBooks

If your business runs QuickBooks Desktop and your team needs fast, secure access from the office and from home, this is built for you. Whether you’re a small business with a few users, a growing company with remote staff, or a bookkeeping or accounting firm managing client files, we size the environment to your workload. Businesses with an internal IT person can also use our co-managed approach: your IT person keeps control while we handle the Azure environment and QuickBooks.

Who we work with

  • Small and mid-sized businesses
  • Bookkeeping and accounting firms
  • Multi-location businesses
  • Teams with hybrid or remote staff
  • Businesses replacing an office server PC

Common questions about QuickBooks hosting

With many traditional hosting companies, QuickBooks runs on their servers, under their rules. That often means limited access to your own environment, hassles or extra fees to install other applications, updates applied only on their schedule, your data sitting in their environment, and contracts that make it hard to leave. Day to day, users can end up working in a separate remote desktop, needing an extra app just to print, with reduced security controls and slow support. These are exactly the reasons a business recently came to us from another QuickBooks host, and they’re common complaints we hear about traditional hosting. With us, QuickBooks runs in your own Microsoft Azure tenant. You keep control of your company file, we install what you need, updates are handled automatically in-house, QuickBooks opens like a regular Windows app, and the same team that manages your hosting also supports your computers, security, and Microsoft 365.

Not necessarily. QuickBooks Online works well for some businesses, but many prefer Desktop for its features, reporting, industry-specific editions, add-ons, and the workflows their team has built over years. Moving to Online can mean retraining staff, rebuilding reports, and replacing tools that only work with Desktop. Hosting lets you keep Desktop and still get the anywhere access and automatic backups people usually move to Online for. If you do decide to switch later, we can help plan that move too.

Usually it’s the setup, not QuickBooks itself. Multi-user problems often come from hosting the company file on an office PC, firewall settings, network issues, or Database Server Manager not running correctly. When QuickBooks and your company files run together in a properly configured Azure environment, those connection problems largely go away.

Yes. We can give your accountant or bookkeeper their own secure login with multifactor authentication, so they work directly in your file. No more emailing backup files back and forth, and you control exactly who has access and can remove it anytime.

Yes. We host your existing licensed QuickBooks software in your Azure environment. We don’t sell or relicense Intuit products. As a Microsoft CSP partner, we can handle the Microsoft and Azure licensing side for you.

We host QuickBooks Desktop versions that are currently supported by Intuit. Intuit periodically retires older versions, and running an unsupported version is a real risk: it stops receiving security updates and can lose access to features like payroll and online banking. If we find you’re on an unsupported version, we’ll let you know and recommend upgrading. Please keep in mind we’re IT professionals, not QuickBooks accounting specialists, so questions about using QuickBooks itself are best answered by your accountant or a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. If you choose to keep running an unsupported version, we can’t be responsible for issues, limitations, or data problems caused by it.

It depends on your business: how many users you have, your company files, and any add-ons that connect to QuickBooks. Timing matters most. We plan the move around your month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, never in the middle of it. Starting the conversation early gives us time to plan and prepare, so implementation happens at a calm point in your calendar. We build and test the new environment alongside your current one and only cut over once everything checks out.

A little, and we’ll be upfront about that. Moving to the cloud is a change, and it works best when your team is willing to adopt a new way of logging in. What we avoid is the traditional full remote desktop that most people dislike. Instead, QuickBooks opens as an individual Windows app from the Start menu or a desktop icon, and it looks and feels nearly the same as it does today. We walk your team through the switch.

Hosting secures where your data lives, with multifactor authentication, encryption, Conditional Access, and backups. But most breaches don’t start there. They start with a phishing email or a compromised laptop that someone uses to log in. That’s why many businesses pair QuickBooks hosting with our managed IT and cybersecurity services: endpoint protection on every computer, email filtering, security awareness training for staff, and ongoing monitoring. Together, they protect your financial data from the inbox all the way to the company file.

No. We handle QuickBooks Desktop updates automatically through built-in workflows, applied on your schedule so your team is never interrupted. We test updates before deploying them, and Windows patches are handled the same way. You don’t need to submit a ticket or coordinate a time.

Yes. We’re a full managed IT and co-managed IT provider, not just a hosting company. Most businesses bundle QuickBooks hosting with our managed services for complete coverage: Azure, the computers your team logs in from, security, and Microsoft 365, all handled by one team.

Your QuickBooks belongs in your own cloud
